HEMA, also known as Heermann Maschinenbau GmbH, is headquartered in Frickenhausen, Germany just outside of Stuttgart. HEMA has been operated by the same family from Southern Germany for three generations, designing and manufacturing wood and plastics processing machines for over 75 years. Today, HEMA specializes in producing timber framing tools and a wide variety of custom band saws, led by brothers Ulrich and Rainer Heermann.

Since the 1990s, HEMA has manufactured five of the leading tools used by Timber Framers, initially for HOLZ-HER and later for PROTOOL. Beginning in January 2007, HEMA granted TIMBERWOLF TOOLS exclusive distribution rights to their high quality timber framing tools in North American. This new relationship enables TIMBERWOLF TOOLS to work directly with the design and manufacturing company for these tools, providing our customers with the best possible service and support through the know-how of the factory experts.

HEMA tools are produced using state-of-the-art precision CNC machining tools and the highest quality materials in an advanced manufacturing facility in Germany. High performance motors and electronics are integrated into HEMA timber framing tools, and finished tools are thoroughly tested to ISO 9001 standards before leaving the factory.

For those experienced with PROTOOL timber framing tools, you will notice the nearly exact resemblance between PROTOOL and HEMA tools. In fact, the only difference is the label so you can continue to expect the same high quality you have experienced from PROTOOL when you purchase HEMA tools in the future.
