Description
Stop carrying those heavy tools to your worksite! The KSS 400 can take the place of a chop saw using its cross cutting system. It can emulate a table saw, and make long cuts using the Mafell Guide Rail System. It also can function as a regular circular saw since the quick-release catch easily detaches the saw from the guide track. Three saws in one! This enables a carpenter to make accurate and clean cuts at the work location without having to walk back and forth to stationary saws, saving energy and time.
The KSS 400 will forever change the way you think about cutting your timbers! This powerful and innovative circular saw is connected to a unique aluminum guide track composed of a friction pad on the bottom side of the guide and an adjustable "smart" stop for either perfectly square cuts or precise miter cuts up to a 60 degree angle. Its handling is unbeatable! You simply place the guide track up against the leading edge of the stock and push the saw through the wood, without needing to guide the saw or follow the line by eye. The hard rubber edge of the aluminum guide prevents splintering of the top surface of the wood, even during multiple angle cuts.
Thanks to magnesium die-cast components, the entire KSS 400 system weighs only 11 lbs. The Flippkeil riving knife withdraws into the body of the saw during plunge cuts and then returns to its safety position as you advance forward with your cut. Once the cut has been executed, the saw automatically returns to the starting position on the aluminum track via an integrated polyethylene cable. Since this saw can cut up to 1-9/16" deep at a 45 degree angle, the KSS 400 can also dramatically speed up framing carpenters productivity and accuracy while cutting "2-by" studs, joist and rafters.
