One of the fascinating parts of working at Timberwolf Tools is serving two very different customer groups:  ultra fine woodworkers and large timber framers.  In Germany they are called “joiners” and “carpenters” respectively, and each has separate highly specialized tool needs.  Despite the differences, there is one particular tool that is on everyone’s bucket list, and after being out of stock due to high demand:  We are happy to announce that the Mafell K85Ec Circular Saw is back IN STOCK and better than ever!

The Mafell K85Ec:  Cut Quality in One Pass

Due to its impressive power and track system compatibility, fine woodworkers with large slabs find tremendous value in making glue-ready cuts with the Mafell K85Ec in a single pass, while weaker alternatives demand three or more passes often with lower cut quality.  Timber framers love this saw when making shoulder cuts for tenons and braces, and even cutting 6x6 timbers to length with minimal flipping involved.

Ongoing Improvements

The Mafell K85Ec has a new USA Operating Manual with three times as many English pages as before.  And the saw now has an LED light in the speed control dial that turns green when the saw is receiving power from the switch.  Visual indicators are always helpful when using hearing protection, which of course is always recommended!  And in case you missed the update in one of our past newsletters:  the base plates of the Mafell K85Ec and KSS 80Ec/370 have been streamlined so that both versions can use the Special Cross-Cutting Track.

Meet Mafell’s New CEO

We are happy to introduce Mafell AG’s new Chief Executive Officer:  Thorsten Bühl!  Thorsten brings a wealth of leadership experience working at European tool companies such as Hilti and Rothenberger.  We had an encouraging meeting in Chicago this month getting acquainted and discussing many important matters.  Thorsten is an avid sprinter and cyclist so that he can stay in shape for many years and make sure Mafell tools arrive in the States as quickly as possible!
