Summer at Timberwolf Tools
Hope your summer is going well! Personally I'm excited for the Olympics to start, using my Makita lawn mower, and enjoying some August vacation time like our friends in Germany. Who's with me?
We have some fun announcements to highlight today, so let’s jump right in:
New 240V Tool Versions
Recently, Timberwolf Tools received an updated 240 volt 60 hertz version of the Mafell ZSX Ec/400 Chain Beam Saw that replaces the 230V German plug version here in the USA. Mafell made some important updates to the electronics including an automatic shutoff feature when the tool is under excessive load, and the cord will now have a proper twist lock plug for this market! We are anticipating similar updates on the ZK 115Ec Notch Cutter by August, the NFU 50 Groove Cutter by December and LO 65Ec Hand Router by April.
Timberwolf Tools fulfills orders on a “first in, first out” basis, so if these tools are essential for your business, we recommend placing an order immediately to secure your place in the growing line!
Here's a video of the ZSX Ec/400 Chain Beam Saw in action if you need a reminder why it’s the world’s best cross-cutting saw for large timbers:
Customized Track Saw Packages
Mafell is also making it more affordable to purchase many of their most popular circular saws. In the past, customers often had to buy a kit with a large carrying case and track that they might not need. Now you can choose what you want à la carte, which makes the cost of entry lower, allows more customization, and cuts down on accumulating accessories that you don't personally need. For example, with the Mafell KSS 60 / K65 18M bl Cordless Circular Saw:
Instead of being locked-in to all this...

Now just choose what you need separately!

Additionally, the corded K65cc and K55cc have the option of purchasing the saw with or without a carrying case, allowing for even more flexibility.
Happy to jump on a call at 1-800-869-4169 and discuss the many options you have for Guide Tracks, Carrying Cases and Battery Sets. Nick here knows everything by heart :)
Introducing Maid Curic
We have a new team member! Say hello to Maid Curic who joined us earlier this month as Market Development Manager at Timberwolf Tools Corp. Maid previously worked at Mafell AG (!) in various departments of their Oberndorf, Germany headquarters. He now operates out of Atlanta, Georgia and travels the country doing tool demonstrations, setting up trade shows, and meeting with business partners to grow Mafell awareness here in the USA. Maid is a family man who loves traveling the world and watching Borussia Dortmund soccer. He’s a super-friendly guy with a fascinating life story so we hope you get to meet him soon!
Full 12" Ultra Smooth Lineup Available
WoodOwl has continued to import special 12" lengths of their Ultra Smooth Tri-Cut Auger Bits due to their popularity when free-hand drilling into large timbers. And the two missing sizes in the lineup are now in stock: 12" x 1-1/2" and 12" x 1-1/4" so you can complete the full set.
Remember that when using a Drilling Station, it’s always best to use the longer 18" Lengths since you lose about eight inches of your drill bit length when using the guide. And the 18" lengths are also less expensive since they are not special-order sizes.
If you’re a trivia buff like me: what’s the only missing size from WoodOwl’s Ultra-Smooth Tri-Cut 18", 12" and 7.5" length options now?
Rising Like a Phoenix from the Ashes
When you think of timber frames being rebuilt after a fire, your first thought is probably Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris (which is being restored in part with the help of Mafell tools). But those of us who grew up in New England have an inspiring story closer to home that makes me smile every time I think about it. Growing up, my family always loved going to The Woodshed restaurant when visiting our grandparents in New Hampshire near Lake Winnipesaukee. Easily my favorite prime rib ever, and I’ll never forget the aroma of the bread they served in flower pots. But the unique experience of dining in a fancy barn really set this place apart. Tragically, the restaurant burned to the ground in 2013 and it felt like I had lost a part of my childhood, but thanks to one of our customers Steve Coombs of Coombs Historic Restoration: The New Woodshed is back and my brother Andrew (below) says it’s better than ever. Treat yourself to a fantastic meal and a beautiful building the next time you’re in the Granite State!

Thank you for reading another Timberwolf Tools email! We hope to have the new Cordless Jigsaw here early 2025 and perhaps a BionicBack even sooner than that…
