Mafell NFU 50 Groove Cutter

The NEW Mafell NFU 50 is the all-in-one grooving machine for tenons, knee braces, dados, birdsmouths, lap joints and more.  This fast and precise tool comes packed with valuable equipment and is compatible with dozens of accessories that make work fun.

The powerful 240V CUprex motor has no problem making 2-5/16" wide grooves up to 1-15/16" deep with the standard cutter head.  If thinner dados are needed:  the accessory 5/8" to 1-1/8" Groove Cutter Head, 7/8" to 1-9/16" Groove Cutter Head and 1-13/16" Wide Cutter Head are available for purchase.  The cutter heads can bevel up to 45° for skew notches with an easy-to-read scale on the machine.  No need to mark your work:  just repeat grooves using the supplied Parallel Guide Fence or the Side fence SA 625 (which can extend up to 24-9/16”).  The NFU 50 also comes with a 14-9/16" cross-cutting track, which has adjustable smart stops to line up perfectly square grooves or miter angles up to 60° (maximum depth when using the track is 1-11/16").  And the groove cutter detaches from this track with the press of a button to be used freehand or with the Mafell Guide Rail System.

The lightweight and durable NFU 50 is loaded up with the latest features for comfort and safety.  For example, an easy lock release sets the cutting depth quickly, and a simple clamping lever on the machine adjusts the depth stop.  The included Position Indicator NFU-PA displays the right edge of your groove and can be adjusted according to the scale.  Conveniently, both cutter heads use the same Square Carbide Knives that can be rotated three times for additional use before replacing.  A powerful hydraulic brake stops the tool within 3 seconds after releasing the trigger, with a flashing LED light that signals the cutter head is still rotating.  And for the cleanest possible workspace, the accessory 16.4-foot Suction Hose connects the NFU 50 to Mafell's S 35M Dust Extractor.
