Invest Before Price Increases

One thing we don’t like year-round are price increases, but that’s just the nature of global supply chains right now.  It’s important that Timberwolf Tools gives our customers advance notice since we have the lowest prices on Makita Timber Framing Tools and WoodOwl Ultra Smooth Auger Bits.  We hope this helps you make informed financial decisions:

On December 1st, our Makita prices will go up about seven percent due to a Makita USA price increase, and our WoodOwl prices will go up about twenty percent (it was almost two years since their last increase).

That means for the next two weeks, it’s like these Makita and WoodOwl products are “On Sale.”  Traditionally Timberwolf Tools does not do Black Friday or Cyber Monday sales, but due to the timing and size of the price increases, that’s effectively what is happening here.  Call it what you like, the time to invest is now!

Meanwhile Mafell Prices will hold steady through the end of the year.  We will do our best to give you a proper heads-up on the price increase that typically comes in the first quarter of the year.  We know from experience that there is always a rush to purchase Mafell tools at the end of the year for tax write-offs, so we highly recommend that you consider placing your Mafell orders soon before our stocks are diminished towards the end of 2022.

Dowel Joinery Tutorial

Besides their lower price compared to expensive biscuit joiners, one of the many advantages of Mafell Duo Dowel Systems are the small auxiliary stops that come standard (and we have replacement DDF40 Stops and DD40P Stops on the website if you need more).  These red plastic stops are handy for increasing or decreasing edge spacing for fast and accurate miter joints, narrow workpieces, or rows of holes without the need for marking—even in furniture that has already been assembled.  Here is a 5-minute video showing how you can accomplish many joints with the Mafell DDF 40 without an expensive accessory template or biscuit joiner:

David really enjoyed connecting with many of you at the Timber Framers Guild last month!  Definitely the most successful conference we’ve seen in recent memory:  Z5Ec Band Saws, ZSX Ec/400 Beam Saws, LS 103Ec Mortisers, NFU 50 Groovers, BST Drilling Stations, and K85Ec Circular Saws are flying off the shelves.  So many new faces too, we’re encouraged that this centuries-old craft of timber framing is here to stay:
